Faculty Fellows

About the program

TLC Faculty Fellows constitute themselves as a community of peers engaging with higher education research, reflecting on their teaching, exploring campus policy and practice with relation to issues facing students and faculty, and supporting the culture of teaching and learning on our campus.

2023-24 Faculty Fellows Program

Evidence for Equity

This year our Faculty Fellows group will be centered on the theme Evidence for Equity.  We will examine how different types of assessment, from the classroom scale to programmatic level, can be used to work for equity.  Our exploration of this topic will include hearing from experts in the field to examining the literature and discussing our own experience as teachers.  As always, we will be viewing this topic through the lens of sustainable faculty workloads.

How to Participate

The application period for 2023-24 cohort has closed.
Please check back in Spring 2024 for the 2024-25 application.

Fellows are expected to attend 4 meetings per quarter (Friday lunchtime), including hands-on workshops, reading-group-style discussions, visits by campus experts in research and practice related to the early career experience, and occasional special events involving outside speakers. The Faculty Fellows have the opportunity, if they so desire, to invite speakers to address the Fellows group and/or the campus as a whole and to host events, town halls, and initiatives related to our thematic focus.

We encourage faculty from all disciplines to join us to ensure a rich, vibrant and productive discussion throughout the program. Previous faculty fellows are encouraged to apply to be Senior Fellows.

Fellows are eligible for up to $2000 in reimbursement to pursue professional development for teaching and mentoring, including attending national conferences or certificate programs. Fellows may also use their funds to develop or expand a project or program on campus related to teaching, learning, mentoring, or student success.
